Privacy policy
Kakomon (JLPT N2 practice) · Effective 29 October 2026
Kakomon is run by MCMH HealthTech Solutions ("we"). This page explains what we collect when you use Kakomon at jlptpreps.com, why, where it's kept, and how to have it deleted. Contact: aws@mcmh.app.
What we collect
- Your account (only if you sign in to sync): your email address. If you choose "Sign in with Google", Google shares your email address and name with us.
- Your learning data (only if you sign in to sync): your display name, target exam session, settings, test attempts (answers, time per question, flags, use of hints), tests in progress, your wordbook and any answer keys you enter.
- On your device: Kakomon saves your progress in your browser's local storage, and sign-in tokens if you sign in. Page images you load for "My papers" stay in your browser and are never uploaded.
We don't use advertising, analytics trackers or cookies for marketing, and we don't sell or rent your data.
Why we use it
- To let you sign in and keep your progress in sync across your devices.
- To send sign-in and verification codes to your email.
- To keep the service secure and working (for example, limiting excessive requests).
Where it's stored and who processes it
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosts Kakomon. Your account and synced learning data are stored in AWS's Tokyo region (Japan), encrypted at rest. Sign-in emails are sent through Amazon SES.
- Google: if you use "Sign in with Google", Google handles that sign-in under its own privacy policy. Kakomon's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address and browser details with Google.
Who can see your data
Only you, through your signed-in account. Other learners can never see it. Our own technical access to stored data is restricted to running and repairing the service, and our automated tools are blocked from reading it.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your account and synced data while your account exists. To delete your account and all synced data, email aws@mcmh.app from the address you signed in with; we'll delete it within 30 days and confirm. Data saved only in your browser can be removed by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, correct it, stop using it, or delete it, including your rights under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). Email aws@mcmh.app.
Children
Kakomon is meant for adults and teenagers preparing for the JLPT. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. For significant changes we'll also tell signed-in learners in the app.
